Eclectic Living

Are you a free spirit? Is your characteristic the freedom of expression? Are you the type of person who likes living outside of the box? Then most likely you enjoy living eclectically and most probable you own such a room if not an entire house.
An eclectic style is full of unexpected items, including at least two or more decor styles.
An eclectic room may be defined by play with color, shape or function. It is never boring. But you have to be careful if you try to attempt this style, as you need to pay attention to each object you include.
Take a look at the following fantastic eclectic rooms for instance and see how it works. It may help you out and get some more ideas.

COMMENTS
Goodmorning my lovely stardusted readers!
How was your weekend?
Today's feature is Suburbs Mama who recently remodeled their kitchen and turned out great!  They painted the cabinets all by themselves,  changed the subway tile, placed a new very nice and practical sink, put on some new knobs and handles... and there you have it! An amazing transformation! Let's take a look....

Stenciled ceiling

Have you ever considered stenciling? Well, perhaps some of you might say "yeah... what's the big deal?" ! But have you ever considered stenciling the ceiling? Well... much harder right? And to make it even harder... what if you happen to have four kids during this process? Luckily some women are not afraid to put their hands - and hair for that matter - into some paint! Stacy from Not just a housewife dared to do that and the results are really rewarding.

A Dining room, a Bedroom and a Workspace

This is not a house tour. These are three different rooms from different houses that I chose to show you, as they did a big impression to me. All three of them are really gorgeous, each one for its own style. The dining room with the wooden elements is featuring nature, the bedroom that feels so inviting and the workspace which is so simple and yet so glamorous!

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way...
Christmas is approaching... I am so happy. I feel like a little child at this time of year. The whole family gathering, drinking and eating together, kids opening presents, meeting old and new friends, there is such a festive mood!
So, look what I found for you guys! A handmade tree that you can do it all by yourself. I found it at the blog Not Martha, and the author assures us that it is very easy to make.

Paper, plastic bags, coffee filters or anything crossing your mind can be used for creating a modern and original light fixture. Great idea for do-it-yourself project. Rounded, fluffy, interesting pendants to create a statement in your home. Reader's Kitchen: Before & After

COMMENTS
Another Before & After - which I know you particularly like -
of a reader's kitchen found in  Young House Love.
The couple bought the house in 2009 but it was very outdated since it was originally built in 1948.
Let's see what they did.

Simple, Chic & Romantic Bedrooms

Today's post was inspired by Rdeco and a reader named Evdokia who is updating her master bedroom and is looking for some help. She prefers the colour white, probably monochromatic or with just a dash of colour. She's kind of a romantic style which could well evolve to a shabby chic style.
So, I searched through the internet to find some images that would probably give her  - and to many of you -some ideas on how to improve her space.
Well, grab a cup of coffee, relax and enjoy all these calming and serene spaces (unless you're at work where you shouldn't let yourself relax too much... but you could fantasize that you're in you pyjamas lying on one of those beds reading Stardust of course!)!

Dreamy Living Room

COMMENT
I found this living room in Jessie's blog Mix and Chic and I instantly fell in love with it! As Jessie specifically says "The beautiful vaulted ceilings, the charming stone fireplace and the wall of closets in the living room are some of the great features that stole my heart when I first saw this home."
Well guys, I think this is my dream living room! I love everything about it...the wonderful colour palette she's using, the white stools in front of this stunning fireplace, the sofa, the paintings... everything!
Enjoy!

DIY: A Changing Table, a Nursery and a Rug!

COMMENTS
Hello there! How are you doing this lovely morning?
Do you fancy some DIY today? Yeaaaaaaaaah
Well, the best part of the makeovers is the before and the after pictures. Am I right guys? Who doesn't love comparing a before and after photo? I know I'm craving for this!
So, today we have some transformations from a lovely couple who own the blog Sawdust and Embryos.
They first revamped this old and cramped dresser to a changing table for their nursery (twins were on their way!), and they took it from this....

You've nailed it!

Nails! Nails! Nails! (sounds like an Aerosmith song, right?)
I have a thing with nail heads lately! Whenever I see a nailed piece I'm stuck! Nail heads can outline the interesting shape of a piece of furniture.  It's amazing what they can do for furniture, or even walls!
Check out these amazing images featuring nail heads...

What a great way to add glamour to a room!

Nails really make these furniture!

This is a sideboard from IKEA with nailheads on! Wow, what an idea!

Wow! That sofa! Could I probably do that on the bottom half of mine too?

Simple doors and boring hallway? Add some nailheads and you'll see the difference!

Hope you have enjoyed the eye candy... if you are a frequent Stardust reader, then make it official! Follow me! I love seeing you are reading! Have a great weekend!

Colourize your Kitchen!

1
COMMENT
Are you a type of colour or not? Do you like to dear with colourr? Do you use bold colours or you prefer the always safe choice of neutrals?Well, if you are a neutral colour type then this post may not be one of your favourites. But if this is the case,  have you considered adding colour just in one room? And this room might be... the kitchenn! I believe that kitchen should be a fun and pleasant place. This is a space where we can express all our decorative worries and experiment with colour either on the walls or on accessories. Take a look at the following pictures and maybe you'll be convinced. If on the other hand you are a type of colour.... then please.... just enjoy!

WARNING: The following pictures may hurt your eyes!

Well... you will be a little bit surprised with today's post. It is not about something nice or artistic or lovable. It sure isn't a bliss! It is about two different appartments that are somewhat unusual. I would say that this is when people overdo it with a specific style. Check this out for yourselves.
